Today, I conquered the Rowing Machine. OK, perhaps “conquered” isn’t the right word – I sampled it, I suppose. I sat down with the intention of using it as a warm up for my big weight lifiting day. 10 minutes was the plan.
After 1 minute, I thought “this is SO AWESOME!”
After 2 minutes, I thought “holy crap, this is working everyting!”
After 3 mintues, I thought “oh my god, I can’t do 10 mintues of this”
After 3 minutes, 20 seconds, I made a deal “make it to 5 minutes”
After 4 mintues, I thought “Am I done yet?”
And at 5 minutes, I stopped. Heart pumping, muscles bumping, sweat pouring.
It was great and it was fun, but I have no idea how anyone can do that for 30 mintues! I saw an article in a mag about doing it for 30 and never expected it to be that intense. The rest of my workout was awesome, it proved to be a great warm up. I even felt a little “pukey” doing biceps and the leg press just about killed me. I rounded off my workout with crunches and 15 minutes on the bike.
I will get to 10 minutes on that thing, I will. Baby Steps…
